Amrita (she/her) is a dedicated Outreach Support Worker currently serving women at PICS’s two Second Stage transition homes. As a South Asian woman, Amrita has found profound fulfillment in offering culturally safe support to her community. Amrita graduated from UBC with a BA in Psychology in 2023 and began her career as a gender-based violence outreach worker where she passionately supported immigrant women by providing access to resources, legal advocacy, accompaniment, emotional support, and more. Amrita is passionate about breaking cultural barriers for immigrant survivors of violence, advocating for their rights, and fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for all. Outside of work, Amrita loves to write, go to the beach, and spend time with her friends and family.
