With over 30 years of dedicated experience in providing support and housing to people who have experienced intimate partner violence (IPV), Lisa Rupert is the Vice President of Housing and Violence Prevention at YWCA Metro Vancouver. In her role, she oversees 15 housing communities, including three Second Stage transition houses, and manages key programs including PEACE programs, Legal Education, and outreach services. She is active in the development of new YWCA housing communities, with 5 currently under construction. Lisa is a media spokesperson for the YWCA, a current member of FREDA and BCNPHA advisory committees, and volunteers in the housing co-operative where she lives, to drive intersectional, trauma-informed change in housing and violence prevention services.
