This manual has information and tools for existing shelters for abused women and their children that want to provide age-appropriate services for older women victims of violence within their family setting. Material is drawn from the experiences and results of pilot testing a new model of services to support older abused women.
Chapters include the need for specialized services for older women, establishing a service, forms and resources, building community support, and an overview of the four pilot test sites in British Columbia and Yukon.
