Sharing our Bursary Goals with SVP Vancouver

On April 15th, Amy, Hannah, and Allison crossed the water to spend a beautiful evening talking about one of BSCTH’s biggest priorities – raising $100,000 for the 2025 Bursary Fund. The BBF provides women with flexible funding to grow their financial independence after leaving an abusive relationship. Women can choose to use the bursary to pursue education and employment opportunities that support long-term security for them and their children. BCSTH wants to develop the fledgling fund to a sustainable $100,000 every year.

It’s an ambitious goal, which is why BCSTH has gratefully accepted coaching from Social Venture Partners Vancouver for the last few years. On this April night, Natalie Marchesan and Ron Klopfer invited SVP staff and partners to learn about the Bursary Fund. Guests asked insightful questions and gave thoughtful advice about how to best promote the BBF and achieve the ambitious funding goals.

“The attendees asked some really great questions that we hadn’t considered before. We’re definitely going to apply some of their suggestions,” said Hannah Lee, director of membership.
