Beyond Bricks & Mortar Series – Webinar 6
BBM Webinar 6: Beyond Bricks and Mortar: Lessons Learned in Sheltering Pets and People
BCSTH has received funding to provide a free webinar series which will highlight women-centred operational practices that are violence and trauma-informed. These webinars have been curated based on a survey and focus groups with anti-violence members and aim to meet the expressed training needs of BCSTH members.
Join us Friday, April 4, 10AM-11.15AM to discuss lessons learned and the great resources that are available for sheltering pets and people. We will be joined by Rochelle Stevenson, Dept of Sociology and Anthropology, Thompson Rivers University, Louise Godard of BCSTH, Jan Dawson of Warm Hearts Pet Safe Haven and Lisa Schmidt of ‘Ksan Society who will discuss the intersection of domestic violence and animal maltreatment or abuse. In this webinar, we will cover the resources available, lessons learned in a pet-friendly house, pet safe grants and additional animal behaviour webinars that are available for transition houses to help keep domestic violence survivors and their pets safe.
*This webinar is open to members only. To register, please see the BCSTH Weekly Member Newsletter. For further information on how to become a member, please visit our Become a Member page*
