BBM Webinar 3: Beyond Bricks and Mortar: Lessons Learned in Providing Culturally Safe Women-Centred Housing Operations
BCSTH has received funding to provide a free webinar series which will highlight women-centred operational practices that are violence and trauma-informed. These webinars have been curated based on a survey and focus groups with anti-violence members and aim to meet the expressed training needs of BCSTH members.
Join us to discuss operating housing from a culturally safe and women-centred lens. We will be joined by Julia O’Quinn of the Aboriginal Coalition to End Homelessness to share about providing culturally supportive housing and services through a Dual Model of Housing Care, which provides Culturally Supportive Housing alongside Decolonized Harm Reduction. We will also be joined by Alissia Lyton, of House of Helping Hands Transition House, Han Knakst Tsitxw Society in Lytton to share their operational learnings from a rural perspective. Following this, we will hear from Tina LaRouche who will share her knowledge around hiring, training and retaining Indigenous staff.
