The Building Partnerships Across Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) Transition Houses project brings together ISC-funded Transition Houses from across British Columbia. Through a Community of Practice model, the project supports ISC-funded Transition Houses in navigating funding requirements and collaboratively working to provide women-centred, trauma- and violence-informed operations in their programs. The project will include creating a shared toolkit available to all BCSTH ISC-funded Transition Houses, including future Houses.
This collaborative project will support ISC Transition Houses in meeting the needs of the women and children they serve by advancing Indigenous-informed approaches to housing systems, improving the safety and accessibility of Transition Houses and contributing to culturally safe, thriving communities and built environments.
This project builds on BCSTH’s ongoing work to support member organizations serving Indigenous women and children experiencing violence through a trauma- and violence-informed approach.
Thank you to the Real Estate Foundation of BC for supporting this work.
